GESTÃO DO USO DE ENERGIA E DO DESEMPENHO INOVADOR SUSTENTÁVEL NA CADEIA DE SUPRIMENTOS DA INDÚSTRIA MINERAL: ANÁLISE DE TRÊS EMPRESAS **MANAGEMENT OF ENERGY USE AND SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIVE PERFORMANCE IN THE MINERAL INDUSTRY SUPPLY CHAIN: ANALYSIS OF THREE COMPANIES**

Resumo

O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar de três empresas do setor mineral brasileiro. A pesquisa caracteriza-se como qualitativa e adotou como delineamento o estudo de casos múltiplos. Para a coleta e análise de dados, utilizou-se o modelo de Liu et al. (2012) que visa analisar a gestão do uso da energia a partir da verificação dos fatores externos e internos da organização, utilizou-se também o modelo de Gunday et al. (2011) para verificar o desempenho inovador e GRI (2006; 2010) para medir o desempenho sustentável. As evidências permitem concluir que duas das empresas estudadas não apresentam uma gestão do uso da energia em seus processos, enquanto a terceira indústria pesquisada destaca-se pela gestão de energia e pelo alto nível de inovação e sustentabilidade em seus processos.

ABSTRACT

The objective of the present study is analyze the managing process of energy use and its impact on sustainable innovation performance in the supply chain of three Brazilian mining sector companies. We developed a qualitative research and a multiple case study design. To collect and analyze data regarding  management of energy use, we used the model of Liu et al. (2012) which analyzes the management of energy use from the verification of internal and external factors of the organization. We also used the model Gunday et al. (2011) to verify the performance and innovative GRI (2006, 2010) to measure sustainable performance. Gathered evidence suggests that two of the companies studied did not have management of energy use in their processes, while the third industry third particular industry stands out for energy management and the highest level of innovation and sustainability in their processes.
