The purpose of this article is to address the alternative offered by the APAC method to the current prison system. This humanist method seeks to recover prisoners by valuing human dignity. In order to achieve its humanistic purposes, the APAC method needs education as a means of self-awareness and maturity of the person. The called pedagogy of presence, applied by the method to the prisoner since his joining in APAC, teaches the prisoner to treat his neighbor as a dignified person while he is alike treated. Education, in the APAC method, encourages maturity in view of the virtues. Finally, a brief analysis is made of how technological innovations in education within the prison system - and APAC - can assist in the recovery of prisoners. The research carried out was qualitative, based on bibliography and documents.
